PS/2 & VGA Extender
The dataCat vp KVM extender enables you to move your keyboard, monitor and mouse up to 125m (vp125) or 300m (vp300) away from your PC. The product set consists of two units, the Transmitter and the Receiver, connected by a single Cat 5/6 “link” cable (also called PDS or Ethernet cable) up to 125m (vp125) or 300m (vp300) in length.
Any VGA compatible monitor (CRT and LCD are both supported) and any PS/2 keyboard and mouse can be connected to the Receiver unit. The Transmitter unit is connected to the appropriate VGA (HD-15) and PS/2 connectors on the computer.
CIM interconn’s proprietary VGA transmission technology is unsurpassed in image quality on the world market. The vp125 and the VP300 are the fifth generation of interconn’s extender products. These products have demonstrated mission critical reliability in 24/7 applications in banks, dealer rooms, call centres, hospitals, police stations, and numerous other business, military and industrial contexts throughout Europe since 1999.
Skew compensation
The vp300 has a built-in skew compensation unit which can fully correct for skew delay (from unequal pair twist in the cabling). An optional external skew compensation unit is available for the vp125 if necessary.
How it works
The dataCat vp125 consists of a Transmitter and a Receiver Unit interconnected by a single structured cable that carries all the necessary signals. The Transmitter unit is connected to the PCs keyboard, VGA ports and PS/2 mouse. The keyboard, monitor and mouse are connected directly to the Receiver Unit. The Receiver Unit is powered by a power supply whilst the PC powers the Local Unit.
An optional local PSU is available for PC’s that do not have enough power available on the keyboard port.
An optional skew compensation unit can, if necessary, be provided to adjust for color shift due to the unequal twist rates of the cabling. Ask your supplier. |
