Opengear’s CM4008 console
server enables System Administrators and Network Manager to affordably
monitor and control the IT systems and networks in their smaller remote
offices anywhere in the world, at any time.
The CM4008 provides reliable secure access to the serial console ports,
and to the graphical desktop screens, of the Windows, Sun and Linux
computers in their remote sites. They also monitor and control network
infrastructure (switches, firewalls etc) and manage general appliances
(PBXs, building security, power switches etc). |

The CM4008 makes remote
control and management truly affordable for the site with between
two and eight computers (and appliances). Small businesses, POS retail
enterprises, healthcare offices, hospitality venues, gaming sites
and other replicated sites all can benefit from the CM4008. To date
it has not been practical to install comprehensive remote management
coverage in such sites. Solutions based on legacy KVMoIP simply have
had far too high bandwidth costs and per unit costs. Similarly the
inflated price and the limited functionality of classical console
servers have precluded their use in such sites.
Simple
Robust and Secure
Console servers provide a simple and secure solution
for accessing, monitoring, and controlling distributed networks
of servers and appliances, from a single site. Opengear's CM4008
provides direct console and screen access for troubleshooting and
diagnostics, and enable the infrastructure to be reconfigured and
rebooted, ensuring availability at critical times.
A CM4008 console server at a remote site can be accessed
In-band through the Internet or the enterprise IP network; or Out-of-band
through a dial-up modem PPP port or a management network. All connections
are secure, with encrypted access to remote systems using up to
128-bit AES encryption. CM4000 also provides a selection of filtering
and access logging facilities. All console logs can be archived
off line. Access also can be restricted by IP address, by password,
or by account. So managers can securely control and manage their
distributed networks of servers and appliances. |
