Sentry Commander PT45
The Sentry Commander PT45 uniquely combines Remote Power Management and Pass-Thru Console Port Access™ into one enclosure and - distinctively - one interface. The PT45 operates distributed Inline Power Modules (IPM’s), which provide four distinct advantages:
Independent Power: One-to-one ratio between power input, IPM and device
eliminates single point-of-failure.
Greater Distance: Each IPM can be up to 1000’ from the PT45 Commander.
Mixed Amperage: 10-Amp & 20-Amp IPMs to control both servers & network gear.
Mixed Voltage: 110V, 230V & -48 VDC IPMs can be controlled from one PT45.
The Pass-Thru Port Access integrates secure, in-band and/or out-of-band serial connections to the console ports of up to 4 inter-networking devices for remote problem determination. The serial console is the only universal out-of-band management media for all the equipment in the data center.
Remote Power Management of the PT45’s distributed IPM’s allows a network manager to power off, power on and reboot network devices from any location via secure telnet, a secure web session or secure out-of-band session. Now the network operations center can eliminate dispatching a field service person for manual intervention. Using Sentry Commander they can quickly restart locked-up remote severs & internetworking devices to ensure that the network is fully operational
around the clock.
Field-Replaceable Global Secure Modem
The PT45 features an optional field-replaceable global secure modem that supports 56Kbps operation, Call-Back Security, and remote configuration. It is approved for use in 48 countries. Additionally, the internal modem option and Pass-Thru Port Access can eliminate multiple modems and dial-up lines and the need for an expensive terminal server.
Solution for CPE and Data Center Environments
Especially useful for accessing Customer Premise Equipment (CPE), the PT45 is ideal for servers and routers in remote wiring closets, providing access to both reboot a remote device and connect to its console port to monitor its boot-up process and ensure it returns to an operational state.
KEY FEATURES
Remote Power Management: Reboot locked-up servers and network gear, or power-off unused receptacles.
Pass-Thru Console Port Access:Console port access to remote servers and routers provides universal management for all data center serial devices.
IP Control:10/100 Base-T Ethernet via HTML, Telnet and SNMP.
Web GUI: Full configuration and control for grouping and control of outlets, assigning user accounts and configuring network settings.
Secure Out-of-Band: Optional integrated secure modem provides out-of-band connection and management.
RS-232 Control: Manage the PT45 via an existing computer, KVM switch, terminal server or other serial device.
Environmental Monitoring: Temperature, Relative Humidity, Water and Cabinet door contact closures (with optional add-on).
Authentication: 16-char. Username/ Password for network admin and multiple users, with access rights only to designated outlets and ports.
Advanced Security: Secure Proxy Server for complete encryption of network sessions. MD5 security for browsers.
Multiple Concurrent Users: Allow multiple users concurrent access to each PT45 so each user can control their designated power outlets and ports.
Programmable Outlet Receptacle Names: Uniquely identify each server or other device by IP address or serial number. Up to 24-char.
Rack space savings: 1U form-factor
